Robert Ross

August 4, 1966 — February 23, 2021

Robert D. Ross, 54, of Allentown, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown.   He was the husband of Gwynn L. (DeLong) Ross, whom he married December 17, 2009.   Born in Palmerton, he was the son of Dale Ross of Slatington, and the late Margaret “Peggy” (Kern) Wehr.   Robert was employed by deGruchy Masonry for over 20 years.    He was a member of the Slatington Moose Lodge, American Legion Post 16, Slatington, Vigilant Fire Co, Slatington, Cetronia Fire Co., and the Maennerchor, Coplay.  Robert loved heavy metal music, going to rock concerts, watching all sports and movies.   He was always the life of the party.
In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by a daughter: Vanessa Ross; sisters: Mary and husband Kip Kibler, Becky and husband Jimmy Dougherty; sister-in-law: Lisa and husband Gregory Russo; nieces & nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington.   Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM.    Burial of cremains to follow at Union Cemetery, Slatington.    In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made toward the education of Robert’s daughter Vanessa.   Checks can be made payable to Harding Funeral Home, with Vanessa’s name in the memo.
