Bessie Peters

Bessie B. Peters, 93 of Salisbury Township, Allentown passed away January 12, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospice in Bethlehem. She was the widow of Robert C. Peters who died in 2007. Born in Walnutport, she was the daughter of the late Robbie C. and Martha S. (Reed) Best. Bessie enjoyed nature and delighted in feeding the birds, rabbits and chipmunks. She could always be found working in her yard and flower gardens. She loved animals and enjoyed cuddling with her daughter’s dogs and cats. Her hobbies included shopping, flea markets, reading ,cooking, and sewing. As a young girl she worked as a sewing machine operator at the former Paris Neckware, Walnutport. She was of the Christian faith.
Survivors: Daughter; Linda K. Peters of Allentown. Brother; Lester L. Best of Walnutport. Nieces & Nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, four sisters, and three brothers.
Services: 11am Friday January 16, 2015 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington. Calling hour 10-11am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery, Slatington.
