Catherine E. “Cass” Ibbotson, 98, of Palmerton formerly of Slatington passed away Monday January 8, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Raymond “Buddy” Ibbotson. Born in Slatington, she was the daughter of the William and Ellen “Nellie” (Williams) Edwards. Catherine worked as a floor lady for the former Terry Ann Sportswear, and Ambrose Fashions of Neffs. Catherine was a 1937 graduate of Slatington High School. She was an active member of Bethel U.C.C., Slatington, where she served secretary for 25 years, member of church consistory, choir and the women’s fellowship. She served as past president of the American Legion Post 16 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Springside Fire Co. Auxiliary, Slatington. the Slatington Senior Citizens, the Slatington Hose Co., #1 Ladies Auxilary and a member of the Gymanfa Ganu (welsh society).
Survivors: Daughter: Barbara Hadinger of Palmerton; Grandsons: Jerry J. Hadinger and wife Kim A. of Lehighton, Ryan J. Hadinger and wife Monica J. of Palmerton, Kevin J. Hadinger and wife Debbie A. of Northampton. Great-Grandchildren; Amanda L., Jason T., Ashley S., Amber M., Jillian T., Morgan R.; Great-Great Grandchildren: Alyiah M., Alexis M., Emily G., AnnaLynn R., Benjamin M., Wyatt M., and one on the way; Sister-in-law: Helen Kern of Northampton; God Child: Scott D. Hankee; Other Nieces & Nephews. Cass was pre-deceased by a son Kenneth Ibbotson, a son-in-law Gerald J. Hadinger, Sr., 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
Services: 11 A.M. Friday January 12, 2018 Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington. Calling hour 10-11 A.M. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Slatington.

What a great person. I will miss seeing her sitting in her pew at church. I will also miss that smile that she always had whenever you talked to her. Prayers for the family.
