John Passaro

John R. Passaro, 79 of Walnutport, died Wednesday February 10, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twsp. He was the husband of Joanne L. (Hilbert) Passaro; they celebrated their 58 wedding anniversary last March. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Henry and Marion (Lentz) Passaro. John worked for Kraft foods until retiring in 1998. Following his retirement he was a bus driver for Northern Lehigh School. District. John was vice president of the workers union at Kraft. He was a member of the former Italian Club of Allentown. John was a daily customer at McDonalds in Walnutport and Susie’s Shady Nook for breakfast.
Survivors: Wife, Sons; Jeffrey A. Passaro and wife Denise of Hamburg, Michael D. Passaro of Slatington, Brian D. Passaro and wife Tina of Effort. Daughter; Cindy P. Long and fiancé Randy Parks of Slatington. Grandchildren; Pamela, Amber, Nicky, Casey, Tyler, Rachel, Angie. Great Grandchildren; Zane, Noah, Reagan, Fallon, and Michael Thomas. Brothers; Gordon and George Passaro. Sisters; Theresa Passaro, and Evelyn Kloiber. John was pre-deceased by a son-in-law Dennis Long, Brothers; Mark and Joseph Passaro, Sister; Pauline Lambardo, and brothers-in-law; Jack Kloiber, Richard Kaintz, and John Lombardo
Services: 11am Monday February 15, 2016 Good Shepherd UCC, 3940 Mountain Rd, Slatington. Calling hours 9-11am at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, can be made to the funeral home for the future purchase of a memorial at Promised Land State Park in John’s name.
