Martha Matisinez

Martha Christine Matisinez, 95, of Slatington, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was the widow of the late Francis W. Matisinez.  Born in Allentown on February 22, 1926, she was the first of twelve children of her parents, Francis and Marie (Hartman) Weber.  Martha worked at Bethlehem Steel, Mack Trucks and a seamstress at Holiday Fashions in Slatedale for many years until retirement.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing andfamily gatherings. She was the best Mother anyone could have.  Martha was a devout Catholic and a member of Assumption BVM Catholic Church in Slatington.  Martha prayed for everyone who was in need of help.

She is survived by her son Francis and wife Carol, daughters Regina Soldridge and husband Jeff, Ann Lett and husband George and Yvonne Patterson and husband Calvin.  She is also survived by grandson Jeffrey Soldridge and wife Amanda and their twin children Adeline and Braxton.

Martha is also survived by her sister Mary Simak and brothers Adolph, John, Leo Weber/ David Prokopovich; In-laws: Mary Lou Weber, Linda Weber and Herb Lansberg.

She is predeceased by her daughter Mary Matisinez and grandchildren Lisa Krum and Christopher Matisinez, Sisters-Veronica Stevens, Johanna Fleming, Coletta Lansberg, Louise Jennings and Brothers Charles Bevington, Eugene Weber and Francis Weber; In-laws Bernie Bevington, Helen Weber, Madge Weber, Michael Simak, John Jennings and Robert Fleming.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 649 W. Washington Street, Slatington.   Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM.   Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville.  Contributions can be madein her honor to Assumption BVM Memorial Fund.

As a child being a neighbor the entire family treated me as family. Such fond memories of Martha. My sincere condolences yo the family. May she find everlasting peace.
