Robert Stein

Robert C. Stein, 68 of Ashfield died Saturday November 30, 2013 in his home. He was the husband of Eleanor N. Bowman; they celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary last March. Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Charles and Esther (Serfass) Stein. Robert was a US Army veteran serving two tours in Vietnam. He retired from the PA State Liquor Control Board in 2008. Prior to that, he worked for East Penn Trucking and the former NJ Zinc Company. Robert was a member of the Lehighton American Legion Post 314, the Carbon County Veterans Association, and a life member of the Vigilant Fire Co., Slatington. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and Nascar.

Survivors: Wife, Sons; Robert S. Stein of CO, Lance S. Stein of Ashfield. Daughter; Dawn wife of William Brenner of TX. Grandchildren; Nicole & Shawn. Brother; William A. Stein of Slatington. Sister; Dawn Seach of Lehighton. Faithful Companion; Dre. Robert was pre-deceased by a brother Douglas E. Stein.

Services: Memorial Service will be 7pm Thursday December 5, 2013, at Harding Funeral Home 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington Pa. Calling period 5:30-7pm at the funeral home.
