Vivian Snyder

Vivian C. Snyder, 99, formerly of Schnecksville, passed away Friday, October 15, 2021, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.  She was the wife of the late Laman C. G. “Lum” Snyder and the late James P. Snyder.  Born in Emerald on August 15, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Whilbert and Hallie (Brobst) Stehler.   Vivian worked for the former Hess’s Department Store for many years prior to retiring.   She was a member of the Slatington Senior Citizens and the American Legion Post 16 Ladies Auxiliary.  Vivian was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neffs.

Vivian loved talking on the phone with her many friends, watching the Phillies on TV, and, most especially, getting on the casino bus to play the slot machines at casinos around Pennsylvania and in Atlantic City. She enjoyed many trips to visit her children out west. She always said she wanted to live to 106 and she got pretty darn close.

She is survived by a daughter, Robin V. Snyder and husband Manuel Ramos of Greenbrae, CA, son Laman C. G. Snyder, Jr. and wife Denise of Chandler, AZ, grandchildren Gracie, Laman “Cory”, and Stacie, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Peter C. G. Snyder, and sisters Mildred Edwards and Arlene Becker.

Graveside services will be held at 11AM on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Union Cemetery, PA Rte 873, Slatington and all are welcome. There will not be calling hours.   Arrangements are under the direction of Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
