Alice C. Bauer, 80, of Slatington, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. She was the beloved wife of Edward A. Bauer, whom she married on July 20, 1963. Born in Allentown on July 19, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Krivensky) Mesaros and step daughter of the late Louis Svoboda. Alice was a graduate of Whitehall High School. She worked for the former First National Bank of Allentown, and the former Hess’ Brother of Allentown in the credit department. Alice was a faithful member of Assumption BVM Catholic Church, Slatington.
In addition to her husband Edward, Alice is survived by sons: Mark Bauer and wife Tammy of Allentown, Timothy Bauer and wife Heidi of Huntingtown, MD; 5 grandchildren whom she loved dearly; Matthew, Nicholas, Candice, Lauren, Bryce; brother: Tom Svoboda and wife Sandy of Allentown; Sister-in-law; Joanne Olewine of Slatington. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Christopher, and sister Lucy DeFranco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 649 W. Washington Street, Slatington, with Rev. Eric Arnout as the celebrant. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Alice’s memory to the Assumption BVM Memorial Fund. Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
