Arthur J. “Korny” Koran, 93, of Slatington passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Margaret H. (Wilder) Koran, who passed away in 2000. Born in Walnutport on February 9, 1932, he was the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Lapota) Koran. Art served his country honorably and proudly as a member of the US Army from 1953-1955. Most recently, Art worked for Penn Big Bed Slate Co as a delivery driver. Prior to, he worked in the same capacity for Heisler’s Egg Farm in Tamaqua and Mack Trucks, as well as being a lifetime farmer. An avid trap shooter, he was a member of Blue Ridge Rod & Gun Club, former president of the trap shooting league at the Slatington Skeet Club and was also a member and former President of the American Legion Post 16, Slatington.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Karen K. and husband Richard Easterday of Danielsville, Louise K. and husband Todd Freed of Germansville; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 children, Fern Brazes, Arthur Koran and Pauline Marx, and brothers, Fred, William "Bill", Nicholas, Alex..
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1PM on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Union Cemetery, PA Rte 873, Slatington. Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either the Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund, PO Box 1, Germansville PA 18053 or a charity of one’s choice.
