Barbara Frantz

Barbara E. Frantz, 82, of Slatington, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, December 30, 2023, surrounded by her family.    She was the wife of Richard W. Frantz, whom she married November 26, 1960.   Born in Palmerton on June 19, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret (Sheirer) Lewis.    Barbara earned a BS degree in Nursing from Kutztown University.   She worked as an RN for Lehigh Valley Health Network and was director of the short procedure unit before retiring after 25 years of service.   Barbara was a member of St. John’s UCC, Slatington.   She was also a member of the Retired Nurses of the Lehigh Valley, and a former member of the Slatington Women’s Club.

In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by sons: Richard W. Frantz, Jr., and wife Rhonda of Slatington, Michael Frantz and wife Rose of Slatington; daughter: Michelle “Shelly” and husband Michael Galio of Slatington; grandchildren: Casey, Garrett, Alison, Megan; 6 soon to be 7 great-grandchildren; sister: Marilyn Kaul of Walnutport.

Private family services will be held.   Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.   In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. John’s UCC, 15 S. 2nd Street, Slatington.
