Barbara M. Turk

Barbara M. Turk, 85, of Walnutport, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus. She was the wife of the late William “Bill” J. Turk, who passed away in 2023. Born in Palmerton on October 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Alma (Kleintop) Serfass. Barbara was employed for a brief time for various local mills. She later devoted herself to her greatest calling as a stay-at-home mother, lovingly caring for her family and creating a warm, nurturing home. A woman of strong faith, Barbara was a devoted member of Christ United Church of Christ in Walnutport. She was also a member of Diamond Fire Company in Walnutport.

She is survived by her two children, Lynnette Wayda and partner Randy Roberts of New Tripoli, Brian Turk and wife Terry of Coplay; step-son, Bill Turk and wife Christine of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Kasey Wayda and partner Wayne Bullimore, Aiden Turk, Lauren and husband Jacob Anderson; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda and husband Earl Bollinger of Walnutport. In addition to her husband Bill, she was pre-deceased by siblings, Wanda Minnich, Richard Serfass, Patricia Geist.

A memorial service will be held at 6pm on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Christ UCC, 309 Main St, Walnutport PA. Family and friends may visit with the family from 5 to 6PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara’s memory can be made to Christ UCC. Harding Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with Barbara’s arrangements.
