Bernard Bechtel

Bernard M. Bechtel, 49 of Norristown passed away Sunday August 16, 2015 in his residence. Born in Palmerton, he was the son of Joseph G. and Elizabeth M. (Edwards) Bechtel of Slatington. Bernie was employed as a sales person for Helzberg Diamonds. Prior to that, he was a manager for Kay Jewelers at the King of Prussia and Montgomeryville Malls. Bernie was a former member of the Allentown Rotary Club.
Survivors: Parents, Son; Michael F. Bechtel, Daughter; Taylor N. Bechtel both of Whitehall. Brothers; Edward J. Bechtel and wife Louise of Slatington, John M. Bechtel and wife JoAnn of Slatington, Joseph G. Bechtel and wife Diane of Waxhaw, NC, James R. Bechtel of Bangor, Leonard M. Bechtel and spouse Max Aguilar of Washington DC. Sisters; Joanne and husband Julian McCracken of Phoenixville, Mary C. Surdovel of Slatington. Former wife; Penny Nacci of Whitehall. Many nieces & nephews.
Services: 11:00am Friday August 21, 2015 Assumption BVM, 649 W. Washington St, Slatington. Calling hours 6-8pm Thursday August 20 Harding Funeral Home 25-27 N. Second St, and 10-11am Friday at the church.
