Bruce George

Bruce George, 83, of Slatington died Friday May 13, 2016 in his residence. He was the husband of Martha (Smith) George. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary last May 28th. Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Robert S. and Esther (Weida) George. He was employed by Mack Trucks, Allentown, working in the maintence Dept. for 32 years before retiring in 1987. Bruce was a member of UAW Local # 677. He was active in the Slatington Moose Lodge #1375 for over 50 years, Fireman’s Relief Board, life member of Slatington Skeet Club, and Emerald Fire Co.
Survivors: Wife, Martha. Son, Kyle, and wife Kelly George, Slatington. Daughter, Kristi Howell, MT. Laurel NJ. Two Grandchildren, Trevor, and Messina George. Sister Barbara Sell, Allentown. Pre-deceased Daughter Lori George 1978. Nieces/Nephews
Services: Celebration of Life Memorial Service. Tuesday May 17, 2016, 11:00 am. Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington. Family and Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 am in the Funeral Home. Interment Union Cemetery, Slatington.
