Charlotte L. Hallman

Charlotte L. Hallman, 77, of Slatington made heaven her home on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Born in Palmerton on January 7, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Clarence R. and Frances M. (Hathaway) Hallman.

She was a graduate of Slatington High School, Class of 1966. Charlotte was a gifted artist and attended the Baum Art School. She began her career working for the former Stanwood Mills, until its closure in 1998. After receiving her certification from Lincoln Technical School, she worked as a lab technician for the Carpenter Co in Fogelsville for several years until her retirement in 2017. Charlotte was a faithful and dedicated member of St. John’s UCC, Slatington, where she served as an usher / greeter and delivered communion to the home bound. She was a member of the American legion Post 16, Ladies Auxiliary, Slatington Moose Lodge, and the Vigilant Fire Co., Slatington. She also loved the Slatington Public Library, and she considered the two librarians her good friends. Charlotte devoted her life to her family, as she was the caregiver for her grandmother, mother, aunt, and cared for her sister during her recent medical issues. Her sister will always be grateful for her loving assistance when her sister lost her husband, Faith and family meant everything to her. The last few years she was suffering from an incurable disease, but she never gave up, right to the end.

Charlotte also enjoyed music. She played guitar and keyboard. She had a great love of sports. She played basketball in High School, was an outstanding bowler, and was a lifelong New York Yankees fan. She also loved to travel with family and friends.

Charlotte will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Wanda S. Owens of Slatington, 2 God daughters, and numerous cousins both locally and throughout the south.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday February 5, 2026, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd Street, Slatington. Friends may pay their respects from 12noon to 1PM. Interment will be private at Union Cemetery, Slatington. A celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held this spring at St. John’s UCC, Slatington. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charlotte’s memory to either Slatington Public Library, 650 Main St, Slatington PA or St. John’s UCC, 40 S. 2nd Street, Slatington PA.
