Clarence L. Patterson, Jr., 96, of Palmerton passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at The Palmerton. He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Voss) Patterson who passed away in 2019. Born in Hazleton on November 15, 1924, he was the son of the late Clarence L. Sr., and Nellie E. (Jones) Patterson. Clarence honorably served our country as a member of the US Army Air Force during WWII. He was a graduate of Penn State University. He then was employed for 35 years as an industrial arts teacher for the Nazareth School District until his retirement in 1984. Clarence was an active and faithful member of the United Presbyterian Church of Slatington, where he was a trustee and member of the church building committee. An avid outdoorsman, Clarence owned and operated Pat’s Archery Shop in Walnutport. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 16, Slatington and the Lizard Creek Hunting Association in Potter County.
Clarence is survived by a son: James L. Patterson and his wife Cheryl of Danielsville; daughter: Lynn N. and husband Russell Bensinger of Danielsville; son-in-law: Barry Ziegenfus of Lebanon; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. Clarence was predeceased by a daughter Nancy Ziegenfus
A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 1 to 2PM. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to either the United Presbyterian Church of Slatington 6750 PA Rte 873, Slatington or Ascend Hospice, 108 Cowpath Rd # 3, Lansdale, PA 19446
