Clark L. Rex

Clark L. Rex, 88, formerly of Slatington, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Lehighton after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was the devoted husband of Ruthann (Bailey) Rex with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Walnutport, he was the beloved son of the late LeRoy and Violet (Kleintop) Rex.

Clark was a 1955 graduate of Slatington High School and went on to work as a condenser operator at the Lehigh Valley Dairy for 42 years before his retirement. Clark took great pride in being a member of the Emerald Fire Company, Diamond Fire Company, and American Legion Post 16. He was also a member of St. John’s UCC Church in Slatington.

Above all, Clark loved his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be truly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

In addition to his wife, Ruthann, he will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Kathy, wife of Bob Stawasz of Hatfield, and Jane, wife of Jim Bush of Walnutport; grandchildren, Ryan Stawasz and wife Natalie, Janelle Stawasz and fiancé Cam Black, Keith Bush and wife Miranda, Kyle Bush and wife Stephanie; great grandchildren, Ryder, Penelope, and Luna; brothers, Dale Rex and wife Judy of Emerald, and Allen Rex and wife Nancy of Walnutport; and brother-in-law, Richard Neustadter. He was predeceased by his sisters, Marian Neustadter and Carol Remaley.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington, PA 18080. Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the services at Union Cemetery in Slatington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Clark’s Memory to Furry Feet Rescue and sent to 771 S Cottonwood Rd, Walnutport, PA 18088. Harding Funeral Home is honored to be handling arrangements.
