Clyde C. Bjorkman, 81, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband to Dorothy M. Bjorkman with whom he celebrated 59 years of marriage on August 1. Born in Alliance, OH on January 17, 1942, he was the son of the late Clyde and Edna (Zwick) Bjorkman. Clyde worked as a sales engineer for Eaton Cutler Hammer for many years before retiring. He was a member and elder at the Palmerton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In addition to his wife Dorothy, he will be lovingly remembered by daughters: Kim Bjorkman of Allentown, Brenda and husband Daryl Boyce of Sanford, MI, Melissa and husband Josh Kukitz of Walnutport; grandchildren: Danielle, Hannah and fiancé Ezra. He is also survived by three sisters.
Clyde enjoyed being in the ministry at least two times a week and telling others about Jehovah. He had strong faith and up to the day he passed was confident in the resurrection hope. He served as an elder in the congregation for many faithful years. Clyde thoroughly enjoyed all of his public speaking assignments and traveling to other local congregations. He read and studied the Bible every day. He was always ready and willing to give practical help to others, loved to associate with people, took an avid interest in others, and had a good sense of humor. Clyde set an excellent example as a husband and father. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in the yard, cutting grass, gardening and other home projects . He also enjoyed diamond painting and putting puzzles together. Clyde also had a strong love of ice cream, it didn't matter what kind.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 8110 PA Rte 873, Slatington. A zoom link will also be provided, if requested. Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
