Daniel M. Farkas, 74, of Lehighton, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 in his home. He was the husband of the late Maria C. (Gades) Farkas, they were married on August 22, 1996. Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Andrusky) Farkas. Daniel was a US Navy veteran, who served during the Vietnam War. He worked as a truck driver for various companies for 35 years. He was also the owner of the former Edgemont Park Tavern, Walnutport. Daniel was a life member of the VFW, Walnutport, and a member of the American Legion Post 16, Slatington.
He is survived by a son: David Farkas and wife Dottie of Lehighton; daughters: Diane and husband DJ Spohn of Slatington, Mary Gulich and companion Chris Odenwelder; Step-daughters: Jessica and husband Michael Pagotto of Lehighton, Jennifer and husband Shawn Mantz of Slatington; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother: Tom Farkas and wife Nancy; sisters: Virginia and husband James Waldman, Frances Koehler and companion David Fairchild; Brother-in-law: Martin Fritz. He was preceded in death by a sister Susan Fritz, daughter Jennifer L. Farkas, and grandson Phillip Odenwelder. A graveside service will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Dinkey Memorial Cemetery, 1742 Dinkey Rd, Ashfield PA 18212. Luncheon to follow at East Penn Sporting Club. Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington. Contributions is his name can be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses
