David M. Franya

David M. Franya, 68, of Walnutport, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus. He was the son of the late Joseph and Anastasia (Yonosh) Franya. 

He was happiest with a rifle in hand in the wilderness. A true outdoorsman, Dave thrived in nature. He possessed a curious mind and a collector's spirit, collecting a trove of treasures, each with its own story. Dave was a friend of unwavering loyalty and dependability. 

He is survived by siblings, Justine, Ronald, and Patricia and husband Bob Buskirk, all of Walnutport; children, Mark J. Franya of Walnutport, Brittany A. Taylor and significant other, Will Henry of Lehighton, and stepson, Justin Ahart and significant other, Heather Schellhamer of Walnutport; godson, Tyler Eckhart of Walnutport; grandchildren, Braidyn, Connor, William, Rheagan, and Caeli; and various cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families. He is also survived by prior spouses, Ruth and Kathy; and current significant other, Arlene all of Walnutport.   He was predeceased by a brother Joseph.  

Services will be held privately at the family's convenience. Harding Funeral Home, Inc., of Slatington, is entrusted with the arrangements.
