David R. Rex

David R. “Doc” Rex, 65, of Slatington, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023 in his home.   He was the husband of Judith A. (Serfass) Rex, whom he married June 30, 1984.   Born on May 27, 1957 in Allentown, he was the son of the late Ray E. and Eleanor (Griffith) Rex.  Most recently, Doc worked for Batesville Casket Co., as a forklift operator.   Prior to, he worked at various jobs including Polar Plastics and Mack Trucks.  A long time bartender at the American Legion Post 16, Slatington, he was also a member of the Slatington Skeet Club, Diamond Fire Co., and the Slatington Masonic Lodge #440 F & AM.   Doc was a former youth sports coach for Northern Lehigh and was an avid Penn State fan.
In addition to his wife Judith, he will be lovingly remembered by daughters: Vanessa Rex (Ammar Eddhahri) of Slatington, Alyssa Rex of Lehighton; son: Zachary Rex (Emily Mulcahy) of Slatington; grandchildren: Ryker and Baby Girl Rex.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
