Elaine R. Ahner

Elaine R. Ahner, 89, of Slatington, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025. Born in Ashfield on March 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Schappell) Ahner.

Elaine spent many years working as a seamstress at the former Barson’s in Lehighton. A devoted member of Bethany Wesleyan Church in Cherryville, she volunteered faithfully with the weekly bulletins. Elaine was also a loving and committed caregiver within her family, especially to her nieces and nephews.

Elaine will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. She was the oldest of her siblings and the last surviving, having been predeceased by William, James, Lamar, Arthur, and Mary Louise “Molly” Ahner.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Dinkey Memorial Cemetery, located at 1612 Dinkey Road, Ashfield, PA 18212. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Elaine’s memory and sent to Bethany Wesleyan Church Benevolent Fund at 675 Blue Mountain Dr, Cherryville, PA 18035.
