Eleanor N. Stein

Eleanor N. Stein, 77, of Lehighton, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in her home.   She was the wife of the late Robert C. Stein, who passed away in 2013.    Born in Lehighton on December 10, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Luella (Muthard) Bowman.     Eleanor worked as a cook for Bert’s Steakhouse, and for Country View Diner, both in Palmerton.   Prior to that, she worked in various garment factories including DeAnne’s Sportswear and Emily’s.

She will be lovingly remembered by sons: Robert S. Stein, Lance S. Stein, both of Lehighton; brother: David Bowman of Lehighton; sister: Sandra and husband Dale Miller of Tamaqua, many nieces & nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 6pm on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington.   Family and friends may pay their respects from 5 to 6pm.   In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Eleanor’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, c/o the funeral home.
