Ethel (Vaniska) Chimics, 85, formerly of Walnutport passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010 in Country Meadows Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Peter P. Chimics. Born in Summit Station, she was the daughter of the late John & Justine (Bolack) Vaniska. Ethel worked at Bowmanstown Diner as a waitress and then at Western Electric where she retired after many years of service.
Survivors: Brother, Daniel Vaniska & his wife Olga of Orlando, FL, nephew, Police Captain Daniel Vaniska Jr. & his wife Julie of Linden, NJ. Ethel was predeceased by her son, Richard V. Vaniska, brothers, Vince, John, Steve, Mike & Edward and her sister, Irene.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30am, Thursday, August 26, 2010 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 1152 Oak Rd., Walnutport, PA. Calling, 9:30-10:30am at the church. Arrangements: Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington.
