Fannie (Berke) Schlosser



Fannie (Berke) Schlosser, 93, formerly of 1025 Main St., Slatington passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 in Whitehall Manor, Whitehall where she resided. She was the wife of the late Earl P. Schlosser. Born and raised in Palmerton, she was the second born and last living of six children born to the late Josef and Mary (Ochek) Berke. Her twin sister died shortly after birth. She was baptized and catechized in the Windish Lutheran Church in Palmerton and became a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church (UCC) of Slatington upon her marriage. She taught Sunday School in the children's department for some years and also served on many church committees including those to choose new pastors. Fannie worked for the former Paris Neckwear Company in Walnutport for more than forty years where she also served as an assistant fore-lady. She was a member of the Springside Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and it's centennial group and was a member of the Walnutport Senior Citizens. Fannie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, solving word puzzles and was an avid pinochle player.

Survivors: Daughter, Karen L. Dias of Plainfield, NJ, son, Eric Schlosser of Slatington, two grandchildren, Michael & Michelle, three great grandchildren, Dexter, James & Mya, nephews and nieces.

Memorial Service: 11:00am, Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington. Calling, 10:30-11:00am at the funeral home.
