Francis W. Frantz

Francis W. “Francie” Frantz, 86, formerly of Slatington, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of Elaine L. (Mack) Frantz, whom he married July 7, 1962. Born in Philadelphia on March 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Franklin A. and Kathryn (Machuzik) Frantz. Francie served honorably and proudly as a member of the US Navy from 1957-1959. For 35 years, he worked on the assembly line / maintenance department of Mack Trucks. Following his retirement, he worked part-time as a funeral attendant for Harding Funeral Home, Slatington. Francie was a faithful parishioner of Assumption BVM Catholic Church, Slatington, and was a member of their Holy Name Society. He also volunteered his time with the Northern Valley Medical Van, the Northern Lehigh Food Bank, and was a member of the Star Hose Co., Emerald. Francie enjoyed golfing and was a member of the former Poor Man’s Golf Association.

In addition to his wife Elaine, he will be lovingly remembered by sons: Marc R. Frantz and wife Donna, Corey J. Frantz and wife Meredith; grandchildren: Cameron, Olivia, Louisa; also nieces & nephews; sister-in-law: Carol Sue Frantz. He is preceded in death by a brother, Franklin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 649 W. Washington Street, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM. Interment will be private.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Assumption BVM Memorial Fund, both c/o of the funeral home.
