Georgia C. Corvino

Georgia Catherine (McBride) Corvino, 99, passed away peacefully on January 28th, 2023, at Above & Beyond at the Knights in Allentown.  Born in Carlisle, PA, she was the daughter of Michael Smith and Frances McBride and sister to Helen Conley and Mildred Clark.  Georgia was the loving wife to the late Charles “Tony” Corvino, they shared 71 years of marriage. The couple met in Carlisle where he was stationed during World War II.  They raised their family in Allentown, moved to New Tripoli, and later, Walnutport.   She was also predeceased by her daughter Cindy Schaedel, son Charles “Butch” Corvino, and daughter-in-law Elaine.
Georgia lived her life to the fullest.  Her love of ceramics, crafts, games, music, decorating, and socializing was evident into her last moments of life.  Before moving to Above & Beyond, she was an active member of the Walnutport and Cherryville Senior Clubs.  She was an avid matchbook collector and held positions of Treasurer and Secretary in the Lehigh Valley Matchbook Club.  She also loved travelling, taking bus trips, and gardening.
She will be loving remembered by many as Nana.  Grandchildren: Daniel (Karen) Zosky, Tony (Connie) Corvino, Michele (Tyrone) Bellesfield, and Deana (John) Gallagher.  Great-Grandchildren:  Tyler, Samantha, Chastity, Ashley, Alexus, Kiana, Madison, Catherine, and Dominick.  Great-Great Grandchildren: Stella, Weslie, Brynn, Blake, Bradlee, and Layne.   She is also survived by son-in-law Doug Schaedel.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date, where Charles and Georgia will be laid to rest together for eternity.    Arrangements are under the care of Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
