Gloria P. Martin

Gloria P. (Christman) Martin passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the age of 93.  Born March 17, 1932, in Treichlers, she was the daughter of the late Goldie (Christman) Flexer.

She was a 1949 graduate of Slatington High School and loved attending every class reunion. She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Slatington.

Gloria retired from Western Electric, where she worked for 23 years. Prior to that, she worked at several local factories. Gloria enjoyed plastic needlepoint, being outdoors, and gardening. An avid sports fan, she loved cheering for her beloved Northern Lehigh Bulldogs.

Gloria will be deeply missed by her daughter Brenda and companion Mitch Jones; son Terry and companion Wendy Shirk; granddaughters Ariel, wife of Phil Sly, and Christine, wife of Eric Bauer; and great-granddaughter Meadow Sly. Her cat Lucky will also surely miss her. She is also survived by sisters Linda Wieand of Bethlehem and Judy Stevens in Mission Viejo, CA, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by sisters Joyce Smith and Joan Kroboth, and brothers Robert and James Flexer.

Services will be held at 11am on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Harding Funeral Home in Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Slatington, c/o Sunday School/Organ Restoration.
