Helen Allem

Helen M. Allem, 81 of Slatington formerly of Quakertown died Sunday December 30, 2012 at Liberty Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the wife of Robert W. Allem; they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this past August. Born in Quakertown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Perma Rickert. Helen worked as a bookkeeper for various companies in the Quakertown area until 1968. She was a Boy Scout den leader and a Girl Scout leader. She was formerly active with the VFW Auxiliary, West End Fire Co Auxiliary both in Quakertown, and a member of the Quakertown High School Alumni Assoc. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Quakertown, and a current member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Slatington

Survivors: Husband, Son; Kenneth R. Allem and wife Kristine of FL. Daughter; Carol and husband Dale Tredinnick of Wapwallopen, PA. 5 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild. She was pre-deceased by her brother Sgt Joseph Rickert.

Services: 7:30PM Friday January 11, 2013 St. John's Lutheran Church, 40 S. 2nd St, Slatington. Calling hour 5-7:30PM at the church. Arrangements are being handled by the Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, can be made in Helen's memory to St. John's Lutheran Church, Renovation Fund.
