John R. "Dick"쳌 Skeath, 72 of Slatington died Wednesday June 4, 2014 in his home. He was the husband of Karen R. (Rauch) Skeath; they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary last July. Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late John A. and Effie Skeath. Dick served in the US Navy from 1959-1962 and was stationed at Pensacola, Fl. He was employed in the trucking business for 30 years. Dick was the proprietor of EEECC Cable Installation Business for 30 years, starting as a computer programmer. He umpired Friedens Little League Baseball, and was instrumental in forming the Slatington Adult Softball League. Dick was a member of Welsh's Chapter of Slatington Centennial Celebration.
Survivors: Wife, Sons; John Skeath and fiancé Valerie of Walnutport, and Michael Skeath of Slatington. Grandchildren; John Paul, Jake, and Alexander. Sister; Donna and husband Joseph Oliver of Cambridge OH. Brother; Randy Skeath and wife Gail of Slatington. Brother-in-law; Richard Rauch of Slatington. Sister-in-law; Nancy wife of Leonard Zimmerman of New Smithville. 7 nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister Jackie Koch.
