Josephine Miller

Josephine M. Miller, 100, of Slatington passed away October 25, 2012 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Clayton E. Miller. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Nellie (Hixson) Worman. Josephine was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Slatington and always helped with the church bazaars. A few of her greatest joys included baking and sewing, and she always loved helping family and friends with such items. Josephine also knit hats and blankets and donated them to the neo-natal units at area hospitals. She was also a volunteer at the former Well Baby Clinic in Slatington. Survivors: Daughters, Corinne M. and husband, Rev. Russell Heintzelman of Slatington, Carol H. and husband, Joseph Kanas, Jr. of Walnutport; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her daughter, Priscilla J. Chestnutt; sister, Charlotte Stecker; and brother, Thomas Worman. Services: 11 a.m., Friday November 2, 2012 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd St., Slatington. Calling hour 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Slatington. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, to the United Presbyterian Church, 6750 PA Rte. 873, Slatington, PA 18080 or Arcadia Hospice, 7248 Tilghman St., Allentown, PA 18106.
