Julia Papay, 91 of Fellowship Manor went peacefully joining the Lord, her husband and her son on May 25, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Michael J. Papay, Sr., who along with his brothers, sisters, John & Thomas Babyak owned Penn Big Bed Slate Co.. Born in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Markovci) Dudla. Julia worked for General Electric for 10 years, and volunteered at Head Start. A devoted wife, mother, sister, and homemaker; she gave wonderful celebrations on birthdays and holidays. Julia was strong as an Oak.
Survivors: Sons; Michael Papay and wife Cheryl of Las Vegas, Daniel A. Papay and wife Arlene of Slatington. Daughters; Deborah D. and husband Kim Blake of Slatington, Juliette Papay of Hamburg. Grandson; Michael J. Papay, III and wife Megan. Great granddaughter; Piper Papay. Sisters; Margaret Kirchkesner of Palmerton, Sophie Buhay of Bethlehem. Nieces & Nephews. She was pre-deceased by son Richard Papay, brother Michael Dudla, and sisters; Helen Petrus, Anna Hronetz, and Mary Kershmar.
