Kathleen M. Creyer, 82, of Walnutport passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. She was the beloved wife of Larry C. Creyer, whom she married on May 25, 1963. Born in Palmerton on November 15, 1943, she was the daughter of the late James and Rose (Kroboth) Rockel.
Kathy graduated from Northampton Area High School with the Class of 1961. She devoted much of her adult life to caring for others, beginning with her grandparents, then her mother, and later helping care for her grandchildren. She also worked for a time as a nurse's aide for the Northampton School District.
Kathy was a devoted member of Hope Lutheran Church in Cherryville, where she was a founding leader of the church's Girl Scout troop. Her dedication to Girl Scouting extended far beyond that role, as she went on to oversee and support numerous local Girl Scout troops over the years.
In her free time, Kathy enjoyed knitting and crocheting blankets. She also found great joy in creating handmade birthday cards and Christmas ornaments each year, often making them for more than 100 family members and friends. Kathy will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing and loving her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her grandchildren, Jessica and Tyler Medina. Son-in-law, James Budihas and his wife Roxanne. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Denice R. Budihas, and sister, Darlene Bird.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Hope Lutheran Church, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville 18035. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11:30am at church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathleen’s name can be to Hope Lutheran Memorial Fund. Harding Funeral Home, Slatington is honored to handle her arrangements.
