Landis Jones

Landis C. Jones, Sr., 78, of Walnutport, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 in his home. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Fritz) Jones, who died in 2011. Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late William J. “Potter” and Ellen (Green) Jones. Landis was a US Army veteran. He was the owner/operator of Landis C. Jones Floor Covering and Jones and Sons Excavating. Landis enjoyed gardening and fishing and also operated a fish & pay on his property called Hot Spot Lakes. He was a former member of the Lehigh Township Lions Club.
Survivors: Sons, Landis C. Jones, Jr. of Walnutport, Jeffrey L. & wife Darlene Jones of Palmerton and Shawn M. Jones of Walnutport. Landis was predeceased by his son Larry and daughter Sherri Lynn. Grandchildren, Kristy, Stephanie, Jessica, Jeffrey Jr., Timothy & Paige, Great Grandchildren, Cody & Sofia, brothers, William & wife Ruth Jones of Emerald, Thomas Jones of Slatington, sisters, Melba Farber of TN & Myrtle Haydt of Palmerton.
Services:11am, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Union Cemetery, PA Rt 873 Slatington. No Calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
