Larry L. Lentz

Larry L. Lentz, 90, of Walnutport, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2026. He was the husband of the late Dolores Lentz who passed away in 2016, and the late Janice Herzog who passed away in 2025. Born in Indianland on October 29, 1935, he was the son of the late Palmer O. and Alberta A. (Haydt) Lentz. He was a graduate of Slatington High School, Class of 1953. Larry worked as the Director of Corporate Engineering at ALPO for 26 years. He then worked as a private consultant for both ALPO and Deep Run Packing Co., in Dublin, PA. He was a faithful and active member of Salem United Methodist Church, Danielsville, and was a former member of the Northampton Area School District School Board. Above all, Larry cherished his time spent with family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Larry will be lovingly remembered by sons, Randy Lentz and wife Kaye, Gary Lentz and fiancé Janet Green; daughter, Lori Ronald; stepchildren, Robert Herzog and wife Tina, Todd Herzog and fiancé Nikki, Brent Herzog and wife Katherine, Tami wife of Donald Wassum; 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; brother, Col. Jon Lentz and wife Georgetta; sisters, Lucie wife of Rick Fuson, Linda wife of Jack Brown; sister-in-law, Bonnie wife of Tom Schwartz; many nieces & nephews.

Per Larry’s wishes, a private family burial will be held at Indianland Cemetery, followed by a public memorial service to be held at 10am on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Salem United Methodist Church, 1067 Blue Mountain Drive, Danielsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry’s name can be made to either the church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
