Marie S. Hess

Marie S. Hess, 85, of Coplay, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026, in her home. Born in Walnutport on February 6, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Miriam (Bellesfield) Blose. Marie worked as a seamstress for many years at various local factories and at Cedarbrook Nursing Home. She also worked many years at Auntie Anne’s in the Allentown Farmers Market.

She will be lovingly remembered by her loving companion of 30 years, Dennis Schaff, children; Christopher Hess and companion Connie Fritchman of Slatington, Jane and husband John Lukacz of Slatington, Tammy Hess and companion Michael Newhard of Danielsville; grandchildren, Christopher Jr., Amber, Jessica, Addison; great-grandchildren, Julian, Ava, Damion, Christina, Jonathan, Abigail, Christopher III, Lila, Kayla; brother, Earl “Sonny” Bloss.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd Street, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Indianland Cemetery, Walnutport. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marie’s name are suggested to Aunt Helen’s Cats in Need, c/o the funeral home.
