Marvin R. Spadt, 75 of Walnutport died Monday December 14, 2015 at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of late Maryann (Josar) Spadt. Born in Slatington, he was the son of the late Ralph and Irene (Marsh) Spadt. Marvin worked for the American Nickeloid for many years before retiring. Prior to that, he worked various jobs including Kern’s Floral Shop, Fritzinger’s Bakery, and Lloyd’s Gas and Lunch. A talented baseball player, Marvin once tried out for a minor league team. He loved the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, whose sporting events he faithfully attended. Marvin was a member of St. Paul’s UCC, Cherryville. Survivors: Daughters; Tammy Marsh, Tina and husband Rodney Christman both of Walnutport. Son; Todd Spadt and wife Sheila of Palmerton. Grandchildren; Tyler Christman, Marissa Marsh, Brandon Christman, Jacob Christman, Devin Spadt. Sisters; Joan Kneas, & Doris Anthony both of Walnutport. Nieces & Nephews. He was pre-deceased by a baby brother, Gary. Services: 11:00am Friday December 18, 2015 Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington. Calling hours 6:30-8:30pm Thursday December 17, and 10-11am Friday at the funeral home. Interment to follow funeral service at Union Cemetery, Slatington.
