Mary Fritzinger

January 24, 1931 — December 13, 2021

Mary (Bohonos) Fritzinger, 90, died at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall on December 13, 2021.  She was born in her childhood home January 24, 1931, to the late Eva (Olivia) and Joseph Bohonos.  She was the last of six siblings.
Mary graduated from Berlinsville High School, currently Teddy Bear Day Care.  She married the love of her life, David Fritzinger.  They settled on a farm down the road from her childhood home.  There they raised their nine children.  Mary and David celebrated 54 years of marriage prior to his death at the age of 75 in 2004.
Mary was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.  She returned to school when her youngest started school.  She graduated from Northampton Community College and worked in early childhood education.
She and David were inseparable.  In their younger years, they raised animals, gardened and canned.  Mary was a great baker and made breads, cookies and cakes.  When they retired, their son Tim built them a ranch home on their property.  Their family, friends, neighbors and even fur babes were all welcome.
Mary was kind, selfless, generous, a hard worker and a good listener.  She was a woman of faith.  She loved God and his creation.  She remained adventurous and went on a 24-day cruise at the age of 88 with her daughter Eileen.  They visited Russia and much of Europe.
Mary and David went to Oregon each year for weeks to a month to visit and help their daughter Belinda’s farm.  She continued her yearly trips into her late 80s.  Even as her health was failing, she continued to befriend and comfort residents at Fellowship Manor.  She will be sorely missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband David Fritzinger, sons, Michael and David Fritzinger, brothers, Nicholas, Alex, Joe and Johnny, and sisters, Anna and Kay.
Of her seven children, six live in the Lehigh Valley, Eileen Borbacs, Maryanne Kneas, Diane Manner, Barbara Frack, Tim Fritzinger and wife Kim (Smith), Jennifer Fritzinger and Belinda Bylund of OR.  Mary had 12 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fellowship Manor for the care they gave Mary over the past 10 months.     In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 387 E. South St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702
