Mary S. Kirkpatrick

Mary S. Kirkpatrick, 77, of Slatington, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the wife of Robert K. Kirkpatrick, whom she married on July 5, 1969. Born in Philadelphia on July 11, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John and Dolores (Sickels) Sweeney. Mary worked briefly as an elementary school teacher. She then spent the rest of her working years taking care of her family as a homemaker. Growing up, she loved spending summers at the Jersey Shore. She was an avid quilter and loved her Westies. She enjoyed traveling, taking cruises and her weekly trips along with her husband to operas and many Broadway shows in New York City. She also dearly loved and was very proud of her grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband, she will be lovingly remembered by her son: Robert D. Kirkpatrick and wife Ellen of Easton; daughter: Kathleen and husband Aaron Tosh of Slatington; grandchildren: Lindsay Kirkpatrick and fiancé Ryan Cooper, Brendan Kirkpatrick, Jack Tosh and Ella Tosh; great-grandchildren: Alexander Cooper and Evelyn Cooper; brothers: John (Jack) Sweeney and Frances (Fran) Sweeney. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Elizabeth (Liz) Dowall.

Private family services will be held. Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
