Norman Handwerk

Norman R. “Sup” Handwerk, Sr., 89 of Slatington, passed away Thursday July 21, 2016 at the Summit Nursing Home, Lehighton. He was the husband of the late Eleanor M. (Rauch) Handwerk, who passed away in 2011. Born in Slatington, he was the son
of the late Charles, and Jennie L. (Paules) Handwerk. Norm worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp’s Beam Yard Dept., 27 years retiring in 19992. He served his country as a Marine in WWII, and was honorably discharged. Norm was a Deputy Game Warden for Lehigh County, Life member of Slatington Skeet Club, taught Hunters Safety courses, was an avid baseball fan, and belonged to the American Legion Post 16, Slatington.
Survivors: Sons; Norman R. Handwerk Jr., and wife Wendy L., of Slatington. Robert A. Handwerk. And wife Patricia, of Jim Thorpe. Keith J. Handwerk and wife Gail of Danielsville. Glen D. Handwerk and wife Beth, of Slatington. Daughters; Barbara J. wife of, Willard T. Neff Jr., of Slatington. . 8 Grandchildren. 12 Great Grandchildren. Proceeded in death by a Daughter Janice A. Handwerk
Services: 2:00pm, Monday July 25, 2016 Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd St., Slatington. Calling hour 1-2:00pm at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery, Slatington. Followed by Military Honor Guard.
