Richard Dorward

Richard H. Dorward, 84, of Schnecksville, passed away November 19, 2014 at Whitehall Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of Joan P. (Reid) Dorward, they celebrated their 53rd anniversary last July. Born in Slatedale, he was the son of the late Alfred and Carrie Dorward. .Richard served in the US Army, and was stationed in Italy. He worked for Western Electric for many years. Prior to that, he was a delivery man for the former Fritzinger’s Bakery of Walnutport.
Survivors: Wife, daughters, Gail Weaver of New Ringgold, and Laura Dorward of Allentown. 3 Grandchildren. Sister; Maryann and husband Richard Johnson of Scottsdale, AZ. He was pre-deceased by a brother Paul Dorward.
Services: 11:00am, Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington. Calling hour: 10-11:00am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Slatedale Cemetery, Slatedale.
