Richard Kern, Jr

Richard E. “Rick” Kern, Jr., 60 of Slatington passed away Monday June 26, 2017 at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown. He was the husband of Lisa A. (Kistler) Kern; they celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary last October. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Richard E. Kern, Sr. of Slatington, and the late Mary Kern. Rick was a 1974 graduate of Slatington High School. He then joined the US Air Force and served during Peacetime. Rick worked most recently as an assistant manager for Wine & Spirits in Schnecksville. Prior to that, he was club manager for the American Legion Post 16, Slatington, and also worked for the American Nickeloid in Walnutport. Rick was a life member of the Slatington Skeet Club, member of the Emerald Fire Co, and the American Legion Post 16, Slatington.
Survivors: Wife, Father, Brothers; Michael Kern and wife Liz of Kunkletown, James Kern and wife Lisa of Slatington, Steven Kern and wife Laura of Emerald, and Scott Kern of Slatedale. Beloved dogs; Abbie & Riley. Cat; Gracie. Numerous nieces & Nephews.
