Richard Watters

November 26, 1948 — January 18, 2022

Richard D. Watters, 73, of Slatington, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown Campus.   He was the husband of the late Dona (Moser) Watters, who passed away in 2004.   Born in Wilson on November 26, 1948, he was the son of the late Richard E. and Olive L. (Schuck) Watters.   Richard served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era.
Known as Ezzie to all that knew him, he was a 1967 graduate of Wilson High school where he lettered in football and track. Ezzie enjoyed watching wildlife and feeding the birds and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Always proud of his service in the Vietnam war in the 173rd airborne division he proudly talked of his experience.
Richard is survived by daughters: Autumn Watters and companion Ryan Crawford of Northampton, Lacey and husband Brent Haldeman of Barto; Grandchildren: Brynn, Stella, Travis; brothers: Walter Watters and wife Melissa of Coroapolis, Thomas Watters and wife Kathy of Easton; sister: Dianne and husband Ray Peluszak of Bethlehem.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington.   Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM at the funeral home.  Interment of cremains to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Slatington.
