Robert E. Rowlands, 81 of Slatington, passed away on, May 25, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his loving

family.

Born in Slatington, he was the son of the late Ella M. (Evans) & William Rowlands Sr. He was the husband of

Margaret Rowlands, they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this past February.

Robert worked for Sears in Allentown as a visual display manager for 41 years before retiring in 1989.

He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War.

He was a member of United Presbyterian Church, Slatington. He was also a member of Moose Lodge #1377, Allen

O. Delke American Legion in Slatington where he was past commander, Chaplain for 21 years, on the Memorial Day

Committee and the instructional representative between the Legion and the Boy Scouts.

Survivors: Wife, son, Scott R. & his wife michele Rowlands of Emmaus, daughters, Barbara A. & husband Stacy L.

Smith of Schnecksville and Sharon L. & husband Edward E. Hartman of Slatington, grandchildren, Eric, Megan,

Shawn, Garrett & Haley, brother, Charles E. & wife Elaine Rowlands of Slatington, sister, Kathleen Kreitz of

Bethlehem, nieces & nephews..

Services: 11:00 AM, Friday, May 28, 2010 at Harding Funeral Home. Inc., 25-27 N. Second Street Slatington.
