Robert A. Vasko

Robert A. “Bob” Vasko, 77, of Palmerton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dolores M. (Anthony) Vasko, whom he married on June 21, 1989. Born in Palmerton, PA, he was the son of the late Frank Jr., and Helen J. (Yamrich) Vasko. Bob was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School. He worked for the former NJ Zinc Co. in Palmerton in various capacities for more than 45 years. Bob was a boxing enthusiast and was a boxer at the former Golden Gloves Club, and trainer for the former Twin Mountain Boxing Club. He enjoyed participating in independent films, watching the WWE and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most of all, Bob enjoyed spending time with family at gatherings and picnics.

In addition to his wife, Dolores, he will be lovingly remembered by daughter, Cathy and husband Matthew Harrison Jr., of Allentown, Cindy Hunt of Palmerton; grandchildren, Kayla, Stephanie, Matthew III, Adrianne, Colleen, Steven; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank Vasko and wife Nancy of Mechanicsburg, Stephen Vasko of Bowmanstown and also 3 nieces. He was predeceased by a son, Anthony Vasko.

A graveside service will be held at 11:45am on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Stoney Ridge Rd, Palmerton. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11am at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd Street, Slatington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Carbon County Friends of Animals, c/o the funeral home.
