Robert Wassum

Robert A. "Spot"쳌 Wassum, 84, of Slatington passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 in his home. He was the husband of DeLoris L. "Dollie"쳌 (Shoemaker) Wassum, they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary last December. Born in Slatington, he was the son of the late Amos T. & Margaret J. (Parry) Wassum. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War, stationed in Ethiopia. Bob worked for the former Bell Telephone Co. for 45 years before retiring in 1997. Bob was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church, Slatington. He was a member of the Slatington Skeet Club, the American Legion Post 16, Moose Lodge and was an avid pool shooter, shooting competitively into his early 80's.

Survivors: Wife, son, Eric S. and wife Connie Wassum of Slatington, daughters, Lynn L. Wassum of Slatington , Tina M . wife of Wayne C. Bell of Fredericksburg, VA, grandchildren, Robert J. Wassum, Rebekah L wife of Shawn A.. Meier, Tara E. Bell, great grandchildren, Grace & Jackson Meier.

Memorial Service: 6:00pm November 4, 2013at St. John's Lutheran Church, 40 S. Second St, Slatington. Arrangements, Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
