Robert Wetzel

Robert C. Wetzel, 75 of Slatington died Sunday September 7, 2014 in Palmerton Hospital. He was the husband of Elizabeth M. (Hodge Nelson) Wetzel; they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last December. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Harvey J. and Anna (Palmer) Wetzel. Robert served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Mack trucks after 23 years. Prior to that, he worked for Bethlehem Steel. Robert was a member of the Mack Senior’s Group.
Survivors: Wife; Sons; Duane R.Wetzel and wife Angela, Robert D. Wetzel and wife Denita all of Slatington. Grandchildren; Jessica Bosch, Kevin Wetzel, Lindsey Delong, Emma and Robert Wetzel. Great Grandchildren; Ava, Aiyana, Caleb, Cable, and Lillian. Brothers; Paul, William, and Joseph Wetzel. Sister; Lorraine Fritz. Cat; Putter He was pre-deceased by siblings Howard and Roy Wetzel, Helen Steckler and Marie Kates.
Services: 6pm Saturday September 27, 2014 Good Shepherd UCC, 3940 Mountain Rd, Slatington. Calling period 5-6pm at the church.
