Stuart A. Schwartz, 79, of Schnecksville, passed away on October 22, 2022, surrounded by his family in his residence. He was the beloved husband of Janice Faye (Peters) Schwartz with whom he celebrated 24 beautiful years of marriage this past July. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Philip and Blanche (Karpel) Schwartz.
Stuart was a 1963 graduate of Queen’s College and went on to further his education in oral surgery while attending the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He honorably served his country as a dental surgeon in the U.S. Public Health Service during the Vietnam Era from 1967-1970. Stuart went on to complete his residency at King’s County Hospital in New York in 1973. He was the senior partner at Lehigh Oral Surgery from 1973-2007 before his retirement. He was a member of Congregation Keneseth Israel of Allentown and was a past president of the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley.
Stuart loved his family first followed by, golf, a good steak on the grill, a cold Dr. Pepper and any show on CBS. He was also an avid fan of the New York Mets.
In addition to his loving wife, Janice, he is survived by daughter, Lara Moretti and husband, Anthony of Wallingford, PA; son, Edward Schwartz and wife, Gail of Port Washington, NY; stepsons, Scott Snyder of St. Louis, MO, and Nathan Reinhart and wife, Kalyna of Slatington; grandchildren, Michael & Leah Moretti, Sarah & Annie Schwartz, Nicolas & Alexandre Snyder, Michael & Kamryn Reinhart, Zinnya Knauer, Aleisha Glover and husband, Elie, Rebecca Hidalgo and husband, Nick, Natasha Becker, and Jeremiah Becker; great- grandchildren, Averi, Preston, and Sophia Hidalgo; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by sister, Carole Kraus and husband, Alan of Lake Worth, FL.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Congregation Keneseth Israel, 2227 W Chew St, Allentown, PA 18104. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:30 - 11 AM in the synagogue. Burial will follow services at Slatedale Cemetery. Shiva will be observed in the family’s home on Tuesday, October 25 at 6:30 PM.
