Walnutport

Theresa M. Shemanski, 60, of Walnutport, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in her home.  She was the beloved wife of Joseph M. Shemanski, whom she married on May 22, 1999.  Born in Valley Stream, NY, on June 28, 1966, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Angela (Heighton) Menza.

Theresa earned her BS in English from the former Allentown College of St. Francis de Sales.  She worked alongside her husband for many years at Walt’s Auto Center in Cherryville before discovering her passion for real estate and flipping houses.  Together, she and her husband bought and renovated homes, making a wonderful team both in business and in life.  She currently worked as a real estate agent for Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Benjamin Real Estate.

She was a woman of deep faith and a devout Catholic.  She was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church in Bethlehem and St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Walnutport.  Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was instrumental in bringing the 40 Days for Life program to the Allentown Diocese in 2011.  She proudly advocated for the sanctity and protection of human life, dedicating herself to this cause with compassion, conviction, and unwavering faith.

Theresa was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness extended to animals as well.  She especially cherished her rescue dogs, Duke and Chubbins, who brought great joy to her life.

In addition to her beloved husband Joesph of Walnutport, she will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Gina, wife of Bruce Gilbert of Bethlehem and Christina Menza of Bath; and five nieces and nephews, Taryn, Tasia, Teara, Jewel, and Jorne. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her nephew, Myles.
