Victor Kidd

Victor C. Kidd, 79, of Walnutport, passed away April 26, 2009, in his residence. Born in Towamensing Twp., he was the son of the late Victor H. Kidd and Emma (Shuck) Kidd of Slatington. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth R. (Parry) Kidd who passed away in 2003. Victor worked in the plant 20 Sample Department at the American Nickeloid in Walnutport for 41 years before retiring. He was an Army veteran at the time of the Korean War. A softball fanatic, Victor played until the age of 58. He also managed and organized the Lehigh Hawks. He was a member of the American Legion Post #16 in Slatington, Palmerton Hungarian Club, Diamond Fire Co., in Walnutport, Slatington Skeet Club, Andreas Sport Club, R.W. Fritzinger VFW Post 7215, Walnutport, Lehigh Twp., Volunteer Fire Co., Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Co., and the Blue Ridge Pinochle league. Survivors: Mother; son, Rick R. Kidd of Walnutport; daughter, Brenda J. Hahn of Palmerton; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Halal of Slatington; nieces and nephews. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington, PA 18080. Calling hour, Thursday, 9:30-10:30 in the funeral home.
