Wayne Kern

Wayne G. Kern, 55 of Slatington died Thursday July 27, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Anne J. (Vogel) Kern; who passed away in 2001. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mary (Holtzer) Kern. Wayne was a graduate of Slatington High School, Class of 1979. Wayne worked as a masonry foreman for TA Silfies of Allentown for over 20 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and total outdoorsman.
Survivors: Sons; Andrew W. Kern at home. Anthony J. “Tony” Kern of Easton. Fiancé Beth Rheiner. Brothers; Edward Kern and wife Linda of Orefield. Richard Kern of Slatington, David Kern and wife Susan of Bowmanstown, and Bruce Kern of Slatington. Sisters; Carol and husband Richard Deihl of Unionville, Janice and husband James Brown, Pam and husband Mike Dankanich all of Palmerton. Many “ Great” nieces & nephews.
Services: Funeral Service will be held 10:30am Saturday August 6, 2016, in Harding Funeral Home, Inc. 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington, with the Rev. James LeVan officiating. Friends and family my call, 9:30-10:30 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery Walnutport.
